Come Down from the Mountain

2 Kings 1:3-4, "The angel of the Lord said to Elijah Arise, go meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? Now therefore thus saith the LORD, thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shall surly die and Elijah departed."

The Bible states that Elijah went up to the top of a hill. In 1 Kings chapter 18, Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal on top of Mount Carmel. I believe that Elijah went back on top of this hill in Second Kings 1:9, when Ahaziah sent a captain of fifty on top of that hill and spoke to Elijah saying, "Thou man of God, the King hath said Come down." Elijah answered and said, "If I be a man of God then let fire come down from heaven and consume thee and thy fifty." Again, the King sends another captain of fifty and the same thing happens to them as the first. The King sent the third captain of fifty to the top of this hill, but this time the captain came and fell on his knees before Elijah and pleaded for his life and lives of his men.

The Lord is speaking to me about the men and women of the body of Christ in this season of time during 2009. We have a lot of the body of Christ on top of hill's praying, and some have done great exploits for the kingdom of God, but they are just on top of the hill praying. Yes, some are calling down fire from heaven, but God did not call the body of Christ to just stay on hill tops!

In Luke chapter 9, Jesus took Peter, James and John up to a mountain to pray. As he prayed the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistening. Moses and Elijah appeared on top of that mountain in the Glory, and it was witnessed by Peter and the son's of thunder, John and James. Suddenly, Peter has a bright idea. "Lord it is good for us to be here; none and let us make three tabernacles; one for you and one for Moses, and one for Elias," not knowing what he said. The next day when they came down from the hill, much people met him. When Jesus came down off the hill he began to do miracles, signs, and wonders. That is when he, by the power of the Holy Ghost, cast out devils, laid his hands on the sick, and did the work that he saw his Father doing. Jesus declared, "But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the Kingdom of God is come upon you."

Furthermore, James, who was on top of the mountain with Jesus when Moses and Elias appeared in Glory said to us, "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years." James also had a revelation that he was trying to impart to us. Peter wanted to stay up on top of the hill in the Glory, yet they had to come down to the people to be the hands and fingers of God, to do the work of the Kingdom. Elias, a man subject to like passions as we are had to come down off the hill to destroy the prophets of Baal. He had to speak the Word of the Lord to the Kings messengers, and to Kings, to bring life to those who are dead spiritually, and physically. James also said that faith without works is dead. Yet, still the churches are filled with the body sitting, praying on top of hills and mountains. Therefore, Men And " James also had a revelation that he was trying to impart to us.
